Rome sightseeing tours: private Rome tours

This tour of Rome is perfect to discover the highlights of Rome with an half day tour

Half day Rome Enjoy the highlights of Rome with your private driver and car; don't miss the chance to drive where large buses are not allowed! Walk less, see more and capture the real essence of Rome, with your driver’s suggestions.

Explore Imperial Rome making stops at the most important monuments like the Colosseum, the Forum, the Mouth of Truth, Piazza Venezia known for the Victor Emanuel Monument also called "wedding cake" and more. Continue by car for a drive past the Circus Maximus, the Palatine Hill and the Baths of Caracalla.

Stop for a visit at the magnificent Pantheon, one of the best preserved Roman buildings in the world, before going on a walk through Baroque Rome for a visit to the beautiful Trevi Fountain; situated at the juncture of three roads, remember the Roman custom of building a handsome fountain at the end of the aqueduct that brought water to Rome. A traditional legend holds that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain they are ensured a return to Rome. Among those who are unaware that the "three coins" of the film “Three Coins in the Fountain” were thrown by three different individuals, a reported current interpretation is that two coins will ensure a marriage will occur soon, while three coins leads to a divorce. A reported current version of this legend is that it is lucky to throw three coins with one's right hand over one's left shoulder into the Trevi Fountain. Approximately 3,000 Euros are thrown into the fountain each day and are collected at night. The money has been used to subsidize Rome's needy. However, there are regular attempts to steal coins from the fountain, including some using a magnetized pole.

The tour continue with a stop at the Spanish Steps: (Scalinata della Trinità dei Monti) a set of steps that climb a steep slope between the Piazza di Spagna at the base and Piazza Trinità dei Monti, dominated by Trinità dei Monti, the church that was under the patronage of the Bourbon kings of France, above. The Scalinata is "without a doubt the longest and widest staircase in all Europe." The monumental stairway of 138 steps was built with French diplomat Étienne Gueffier’s bequeathed funds of 20,000 scudi, in 1723-1725, linking the Bourbon Spanish Embassy to the Holy See, today still located in Palazzo Monaldeschi in the piazza below, with the Trinità dei Monti above.

You will also have the chance to admire, the Capital Hill, Piazza del Popolo and much more.

Next stop is the wonderful Vatican City: officially State of the Vatican City is a landlocked sovereign city-state whose territory consists of a walled enclave within the city of Rome. At approximately 44 hectares (108.7 acres), and with a population of around 800, it is the smallest independent state in the world by both population and area, and include the immense Basilica, the Saint Peter Square, etc.
