This three hour private walking tour will take you to discover one of Rome’s most characteristic neighborhoods - The Trastevere. This is an ancient neighborhood and was inhabited first by the Etruscans from 753 BC. You will depart from the Janiculum hill with one of the most memorable panoramas of Rome but first you will visit the church of San Pietro in Montorio and the small temple designed by Bramante where legend places the crucifixion of Saint Peter. From here you will walk through the narrow Medieval streets and alleys in lively Trastevere, this interesting corner of Rome, famous for its nightlife, restaurants, and cafés. Your tour will finish at the Santa Maria in Trastevere.
The Basilica of Our Lady in Trastevere (Italian: Basilica di Santa Maria in Trastevere) is a titular minor basilica, one of the oldest Churches of Rome, perhaps the first in which Mass was openly celebrated.
