It is world-widely famous for the golden Byzantine mosaics and its treasures of art from the East, such as the Golden Altarpiece and the gilded bronze Horses on the loggia.
The Doge's Palace is the most important museum in Venice. The Doge’s Palace was once the Republic's seat of power, the palace of justice and the official residence of the doge. Considered the most ambitious expression of Venetian Gothic architecture, it is impressive for the sumptuous display of richness and art. This museum costs Euro 16.00 and will also give you access to other sites. If you are in Venice for the first time, you shouldn't miss this palace.
Shop on the Rialto bridge, wander the tiny streets and alleys and have fun getting lost! Shopping is fun too in Venice. There are hundreds of shops selling glass and masks. If you have the time, you could even venture over to Murano island to see the glassblowers at work.
