North of Milan, near Switzerland, lies Como, a town where everything is special. Famous for its lake, and for its villas with florid parks and secular trees, also its famous "vip" guests, Como can offer you every kind of solution for your trip.

Cultural routes are ready. From old Romanesque churches to Rationalist architecture, Como is rich in proposals, and the near by valleys are full of opportunities for mountain lovers, who through wild environments and un spoilt valleys can try out every kind of experience that this natural setting can offer.

Why not taste a typical Larian specialty? A fantastic mix of lake fish, cheese from the mountains, meats and traditional Italian cooking. For shopping you can find every kind of silk product, visit a local silk factory and the concept stores. A relaxing cultural experience at your fingertips.

Lake Como in the Lombardy region of Italy is one of the most beautiful areas in the world and is a favorite destination for tourists. Bellagio Italy is a popular resort town, situated on the lake, with a view of the Alps. Its nickname is the pearl of the Alps and it's noted for its buildings that are hundreds of years old. Visitors can go on walking tours to learn about the local history of the area. Cypress and pine trees line the lakeside and there are activities such as wind surfing, kayaking and jet skiing on the water in the summertime. You can opt to take a boat trip from one side of the lake to the other. Shopping for antiques and local crafts is a pleasant pastime when vacationing in Bellagio. The region is famous for its glass blowing and silk making traditions and there are shops selling jewelry, pottery, leather, hand carved candles and china. It's also fun to explore the pastry shops and ice cream parlors. Dining out is a treat, given the superb cuisine from the Lombardy region, which specializes in seafood such as trout and perch. Polenta is another common dish.

Cernobbio, sitting at the foot of Mount Bisbino, is another of the lovely towns in Italy's Lake District that attract a tidal wave of tourists during the high season, and great crowds at most other times of the year. It sits just a few kilometers north of the city of Como, on the modern highway that follows the ancient Roman road, the Via Regina, along the western shore of the lake. Cernobbio is a naturally picturesque town, with a comely, tree-lined, flower- bedecked waterfront. It's waterfront, narrow old streets and piazzas are lined with the handsome, impeccable shops, cafes, trattoria, restaurants, professional offices, homes and apartment buildings, all painted in the muted buttery tones that one sees around the entire Lake District.

Down at the harbor, ferries coming to and departing from the jetty connect all the other major towns and villages on the Lake, and add to Cernobbio's pleasant bustle. Extending south and north of the town are the envy-inducing villas, i.e. Villa d’Este, Villa Erba and Villa Pizzo, built mostly in the 19th century, by the titled nobility of many of Europe's courts and the sometimes wealthier titans of industry who made their money in Milan, Torino and other Italian and European cities.
