WINE TASTING - TOUR 2 - (full day)

We depart from Florence in the direction of Chianti Fiorentino and stop in Montefioralle, worthy of a visit for its castle, pleasant climate and fantastic views at 360°.  Walking along the internal circular streets, we witness one of the best examples of rural medieval architecture in Tuscany. That would be the houses built with archways.  Amerigo Vespucci’s birthplace is also here – his house is the one marked with a “V” for his family name. A little way up the road (by car) we come to Greve in Chianti where we can admire Piazza Giovanni da Verrazzano with its porticoes, Piazza Matteotti, the Santa Croce church, the convent of San Francesco, and a string of small, beautiful shops where you can buy local products produced using traditional methods from the past. We take off again to Castellina in Chianti where a visit to the Castle di Meleto awaits. The castle showcases perfectly intact medieval towers.  It is located at the end of a long cypress lined driveway in the middle of fields and vineyards by the sun.  There is no better example of Tuscan bkissed eauty. After visiting the castle and wine cellars we can taste the wine and local products. The last stop on the tour, (but not the least important) is a visit to the stunning Castello di Brolio, surrounded by 1200 hectares of land.  It has been run by the aristocratic Ricasoli family since the 12^th century. Here again, after seeing the gardens, wine cellars, etc, we can relax in the wine tasting rooms and try the top quality Brolio wines.
